About BRONWEN GRIEVES

Bronwen has been pursuing her interest in ceramics for 37 years. She encountered it almost by chance after a friend enrolled her at an evening class following her move from London to Nottingham in 1986. She loved the feel of clay immediately and kept coming back. She didn’t find ceramics easy, it took a long time before she could produce anything she found interesting and years before she established a style of her own. Always a hand- builder, it was perhaps the difficulty she experienced and the limitless possibilities of working with clay that has maintained her fascination and interest in object building from the beginning to the present day.

In 2010, Bronwen got her own kiln and a shed to work in. She continues to work from this garden studio. The artist did not attempt to sell her work until 2018 and she left her job in 2019 to make ceramics full time. She currently sells her work through galleries in the UK, Europe and the USA, and now through Vessels + Sticks.
