ARTIST STATEMENT

My leading inspirations have remained nature and its poetic essence, as well as brutalist architecture. In each piece I aim to find the perfect equilibrium between these two aspects.

Coming from a small town, nature has always been an important part of our life here. Although I never seem to spend as much time as I’d like in the outdoors, perhaps the references of nature spread through my work simply are aspirational self-reminders; of its beauty, its peacefulness and how restorative its contemplation truly feels.

Brutalist architecture is also something I have always been drawn to; its rawness as well as its minimalist and monochrome constructions. For as long as I can remember, its strength and bare allure have been an ongoing source of inspiration.
