Collection: NATASCHA MADEISKI

ARTIST STATEMENT

In this recent project, Natascha Madeiski seeks to draw attention to discarded materials from the building and packaging industries. By collecting off-cuts and remnants of various foam materials, she transforms what is typically seen as waste into quick, intuitive sculptural compositions. These ephemeral assemblages serve as the basis for a unique process where ceramic materials are cast into plaster moulds taken from the foam sculptures. The fragile scraps, held together with tape, imprint their textures and contours onto the transparent, refined surface of the ceramics. Through this process, Natascha Madeiski aims to elevate these overlooked materials, preserving their transient forms in a durable, presentable medium. This work invites reflection on the lifecycle of materials and the beauty that can emerge from what is often discarded.
