The works in this series emerge from a dialogue between found objects, salvaged fragments of the artist's sculptures, and the gifted remnants of broken pieces—treasures gathered over years of making.
The metal bases have travelled with her for a long time. She's cut into them, treated them, and coaxed their surfaces into rust through a layered processes. Each base is then shaped with custom tools, forming intricate contours that cradle and elevate the sculptures they support.
The artist finds beauty in every shard she keeps. At times, these fragments are the most compelling elements rescued from sculptures she never fully resolved.
What most fascinates her is the history embedded in these materials—much like the porcelain knob-and-tube removed from my home (included in Stirring 3), replaced more than a century after it was first installed. The salt-fired remnants are recut, sanded, and reimagined into new forms, each one recomposed to tell a different story. The merging of ceramic types, surfaces, and treatments allows them to live again in these small assemblages—tiny landscapes that feel both ancient and quietly apocalyptic.

ARTIST STATEMENT
Eden’s sculptures at first glance appear quiet and placid, but upon closer inspection, her narratives and titles reveal a deeper darker side. She explores materials utilizing her knowledge and skills from various sources. Figures appear in most of her work focusing on human relationships, resiliency, her search for purpose, and maintaining balance.
