ARTIST STATEMENT
Historically, most glaze is applied by dipping, pouring, painting or spraying. I am interested in using flame and the draft of the kiln to distribute the minerals from the wood through the process of wood firing. Doing this successfully requires consideration of the minerals in the clay, the minerals present in different species of wood, how the forms relate to each other when stacked, and how this affects both aesthetic and thermal dynamics of firing. These variables are impossible to replicate. This inability to replicate is embraced in the making as well. Each piece is a complex matrix of decisions made during the manipulation of malleable clay and firing it, never to be repeated.

Shipping + Insurance
All Vessels + Sticks orders are packaged by the artists themselves and shipped directly to you, the collector. This process allows us to reduce overall shipping costs as well as our carbon footprint.
Local or international charges vary depending on the location of the artist and the collector. Please note that multiple shipping charges will apply if you order works from more than one artist.
All ceramic artworks are ready to ship. Please allow 1 to 3 days for an order to be processed and the artwork to be prepared for shipping. If an artist is away, longer shipping times will apply and adjusted timing will be indicated on the artwork page.
Shipping Rates
Shipping rates are calculated based on the size and weight of the package, domestic or international carrier service requirements and origination and destination address. An estimate will be provided upon checkout. Some artworks may require additional packing, handling or special shipping arrangements. If this is the case, you will be directed to a member of our team to receive a shipping estimate and to coordinate details.
Taxes and Duties
International orders may be subject to import duties and taxes incurred when the delivery reaches your destination. The charges of import duties and taxes must be paid by the recipient of the order. Unfortunately, we have no control over these charges and we have no way of knowing what the charges will be in advance. Please contact your local customs office for further information before placing your order.
