ARTIST STATEMENT
Working primarily with a coarse stoneware clay body, Bill coil builds his vessel forms and continues to scrape and carve to create his deeply textured surfaces. Multiple layers of slip and glaze are applied to accentuate surface depth and to layer colour.
Bill holds a Master of Architecture from Yale University and was a practicing architect in NY for a number of years prior to turning full time to his ceramic practice. Bill is drawn to clay as a material that he can manipulate and form, in a way that was impossible in architecture where plans are executed by engineers and construction crews. Bill thoroughly enjoys being able to work through the entire process of creation from an initial idea through to the tangible output or artwork.

Shipping + Insurance
All Vessels + Sticks orders are packaged by the artists themselves and shipped directly to you, the collector. This process allows us to reduce overall shipping costs as well as our carbon footprint.
Local or international charges vary depending on the location of the artist and the collector. Please note that multiple shipping charges will apply if you order works from more than one artist.
All ceramic artworks are ready to ship. Please allow 1 to 3 days for an order to be processed and the artwork to be prepared for shipping. If an artist is away, longer shipping times will apply and adjusted timing will be indicated on the artwork page.
Shipping Rates
Shipping rates are calculated based on the size and weight of the package, domestic or international carrier service requirements and origination and destination address. An estimate will be provided upon checkout. Some artworks may require additional packing, handling or special shipping arrangements. If this is the case, you will be directed to a member of our team to receive a shipping estimate and to coordinate details.
Taxes and Duties
International orders may be subject to import duties and taxes incurred when the delivery reaches your destination. The charges of import duties and taxes must be paid by the recipient of the order. Unfortunately, we have no control over these charges and we have no way of knowing what the charges will be in advance. Please contact your local customs office for further information before placing your order.
